I have spent the afternoon today working out our trip down the east coast from Cairns to Sydney using our east coast discovery pass. I have realised now that this pass also includes coach travel for some sections. not as nice but it'll have to do.
To work out where we wanted to go I basically had to go through every single stop on the network and see whether there was anything there that may be of interest and was it somewhere that we might consider staying for a few days. I also had to take into consideration distances between places as we didn't want too many massive trips.
After a long afternoon of searching I think I have finally cracked it. The initial plan is to stop at the following places:
Cairns, Tully, Mission Beach, Townsville, Magnetic Island, Bundaberg, Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay, Casino, Port Macquarie and finally Sydney.
This is a 1,679 mile route taking in the wettest town in Australia, the great barrier reef, museums, koalas, rainforests, cities, beaches, dolphins and lighthouses. Not bad!
Welcome
Welcome to my blog of our world travels.
This seems the easiest way to let people know what we're up to and how it's all going. I will try and update this page as regularly as possible with info about what we've been getting up to along with pictures and plans of whats coming up!!
I hope you enjoy reading about our experiences.
